First County Bank Foundation has announced that, so far in 2017, it has awarded 11 Greenwich-based nonprofits a total of $45,500 in grants to help support their missions.
In addition, five grants were awarded by the foundation to Westport-based nonprofit groups totaling of $22,500.
The foundation has awarded individual grants worth more than $8.2 million since its inception in 2001.
“It”™s exciting to be part of an organization which works together with local nonprofits to ensure basic needs are met,” said Reyno A. Giallongo Jr., president of the foundation.
The Greenwich-based nonprofit organizations which have received First County Bank Foundation grants in 2017 are: Abilis Inc.; Greenwich Alliance for Education; The Hill House Inc., Jewish Family Services of Greenwich, Kids in Crisis; Meals of Wheels of Greenwich, Neighbor to Neighbor, River House Adult Day Center, United Way of Greenwich, YWCA of Greenwich and YMCA of Greenwich.
Westport organization receiving grants are: Earthplace, The Discovery Nature Center; Homes with Hope; Positive Directions, The Center for Prevention and Counseling, Westport Library Association, and United Way of Coastal Connecticut ”“ Westport.
